Planning Cooperative Learning Lessons "Getting Started"
 |
|
. . . Most people think that
getting ready for a cooperative class takes longer, and to
me, it took [less time]. Now I must tell you that I am not a
faculty member that has a class lesson plan, and I’m going
to do this in the classroom and spend an enormous amount of
time preparing class notes. So, for me, switching from the
traditional method to the cooperative method was really
easy. It was really easy, because I would look at what the
students can do in the classroom when I am covering this
subject so I can do a few bullets just to guide me in the
classroom. And then all I have to prepare is what I am going
to ask the students to do. Now, initially, it did take a lot
of time. When I was trying to [decide], “Am I going to do a
Jigsaw
? Am I going to do a
Think-Pair-Share
?” it took a lot of time for me to get ready for the class.
But today it doesn’t take that much [time].
