 Teambuilding Workshop II
(Follow-Up to Workshop I)
Developed by the First Year Engineering Program faculty
at Ohio State University
(with support from the Gateway Engineering Education Coalition and NSF)

Procedures:

1.

Instructor-Led Discussion of Workshop Goals and “Critical Success Factors” of Teamwork

Using the PowerPoint presentation (Teambuilding Workshop II PowerPoint.ppt), the instructor will discuss the goals of the workshop and the “critical success factors” of teamwork with the students.

2.

Instructions to Students

Working with your teammates, you will be completing the Critical Success Factors/Lessons Learned worksheet.
Have someone in your team record the individual opinions of each person regarding the Critical Success Factors. Each person should select the three "most important" (noted as 1-3) and the three "least important" (noted as 4-6). Then the team acting together should do the same.
Once you have completed the ratings, you will move on to the Lessons Learned portion of the assignment. As a team, brainstorm on the three points of discussion. (These are also included in the PowerPoint slide for group discussion after the teams have had time to discuss the points.)

3. Instructor-Led Discussion of Critical Success Factors and Lessons Learned

After the teams have finished their ratings/discussions, bring the class back together to discuss what each team has discovered and/or learned. If possible, ask each team to lead a different portion of the discussion. Have each team turn in their team worksheet at the end of the class.
