Mission of the Center for Learning and Teaching Excellence

The mission of the Center for Learning and Teaching Excellence (CLTE) is to assist faculty in achieving their full potential as teacher/scholars in support of enhanced student learning.

To realize this mission we:

• provide a physical location and resources so faculty can broaden their pedagogical exploration and reflection.
• design, promote and host activities so individuals responsible for teaching may form professional and collaborative connections across the academic enterprise.
• focus on the individual, providing value added consultation to teaching corps, departments, and colleges.
• serve as a clearinghouse for research on instructional strategies that enhance teaching and learning and increase student success.

CLTE is committed to reflective practice in understanding learning objectives, constructing learning activities, and assessment of student learning.
